To Benefit Tag-A-Giant
Sponsored by Passionfish & Heller Estate

Pacific Grove, CA —Twenty-four (24) tickets will be auctioned off to the twelve (12) highest bidders in this unique silent auction to benefit Tag-A-Giant. Winning bidders will receive two (2) seats at an exclusive eight-course wine dnner at Passionfish restaurant and a private tour of the Hopkin’s Marine Station Tuna Research and Conservation Facility.

Silent bidding opens Friday, September 16, with bids accepted through November 15, 2011. The Dinner for Giants will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011.

A Once-In-A-Lifetime Experience
Winning bidders will be treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the Hopkins Marine Station Bluefin Research Facility lead by the world renown Bluefin Tuna expert, Professor Barbara Block. Then, they and Professor Block will head to an exclusive 8-Course Dining Experience Prepared by Chef Ted Walter at the Award Winning Passionfish Restaurant, hosted by Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Committee Member and Passionfish Restaurant owner, Cindy Walter.

Chef Ted Walter will present the best Monterey County has to offer, much of it harvested just a few miles from the restaurant. In fact, the chef promises such rare culinary finds, this may be the diners only opportunity to sample such fare. Each of the eight tantalizing dishes will be paired with a fine wine, including selections from Heller, Ryme Cellars, Wind Gap Wines, and Cobb Wines.

To Benefit Tag A Giant Foundation
The Tag-A-Giant Foundation is committed to reversing the decline of Northern Bluefin Tuna populations by supporting the scientific research necessary to develop innovative and effective policy and conservation initiatives. The Foundation engages scientists, policy-makers, fishermen and citizens to chart the course toward rebuilding and maintaining sustainable populations of Northern Bluefin Tuna in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Passionfish, a pioneer in the local sustainable oceans movement, is always looking for ways to spread the message of conservation and works to find new and positive ways to educate the public on the plight of the oceans. Therefore, the intent of this silent auction, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Tag-A-Giant Foundation, is not only to raise funds but, also to build awareness of this worthwhile non-profit conservation program. When Heller Estate, one of the few makers of fine organic wines in Carmel Valley, learned of Passionfish’s goals they were eager to join the cause and have donated the wines to be served at the event.
